Title: Web Designer
Childhood Dream: To be an artist and comedian.
Kim Ruelo joined the Dream Team in June 2008 as the web designer. She has a passion for abused and neglected youth, commited to improving the quality of life through innovative, emotionally charged art and design. Kim believes that Dreamsforkids.org will serve as a digital environment that can open up doors for kids to build confidence, character, and a positive attitude that will lead them to discover and reach their goals.
Currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kim is pursing a BFA degree in graphic design and has earned a BFA degree in photography. She has a wide range of education and over 9 years of design experience, from developing interactive web sites that integrate photography and moving image to writing and directing short films that challenge religious beliefs and confront social issues.
Kim intends to become a professional cliché killer, fascinated with the idea of wonder and seeking to make old things new. Her latest work is inspired by childhood thoughts and memories. Outside of her work, Kim enjoys watching foreign films, reading stories in bathroom stalls, writing, playing badminton, running, and making people laugh.
