Title: Development Coordinator
Childhood Dream: To play wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers.
Daniel Diorio joined the Dreams for Kids development department in July of 2008. After learning of Dreams for Kids’ mission through an inspiring conversation with founder Tom Tuohy, Daniel felt compelled to contribute to the cause. His role as development coordinator affords him the opportunity to promote the growth and sustainability of an organization that is committed to empowering young people rather than providing them with handouts—a goal to which he is unwaveringly dedicated.
Daniel was born and raised in Chicago’s Western Suburbs and opted to stay in the Chicagoland area for his post-secondary education, attending Northwestern University. At Northwestern, Daniel is pursuing a degree in organizational theory and legal studies. His coursework has allowed him to explore how organizations can operate in an efficient manner that allows them to expand and succeed. He is also enrolled in Northwestern’s Undergraduate Leadership Program and involved with the Cape Town Project—a musical outreach program that sends him and his a cappella group on a two-week charity tour of South Africa’s townships.
Daniel enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and especially his Dreams for Kids colleagues. He loves playing sports, reading tedious non-fiction books, and doing anything music related. He believes passionately in the importance of nurturing and maintaining a socially conscious, proactive young generation of Americans that is devoted to leaving an indelibly positive mark on the world.
