Childhood Dream: To be a teacher.
Beth recently joined the Dreams for Kids team because of her strong passion for working with special needs children. She brings a lot of experience and expertise because of her teaching profession and work with special needs children. Her biggest event of the summer is planning the Twin Lakes Extreme Recess Waterskiing.
Beth has recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in Elementary Education. Throughout her 4 years at Olivet, she was very involved in many different programs that work with all different types of disabilities. She was the College Director for her universities Best Buddies Chapter, and during that year, they received “Volunteer of the Year” award for the state of Illinois. Through this program she developed a great friendship with her buddy that continues to this day! Dreams for Kids has helped her develop a much greater understanding of all different types of children, and has definitely help her apply this knowledge to her career.
Beth has always had the strong belief that it is possible to change lives through small acts and is excited to be able to be a part of the Dreams for Kids organization. She is inspired by seeing kids overcome struggles and achieving dreams. In her free time, Beth loves spending time with friends and family, watching the Chicago Cubs, and reading.
